Senior Riley Sands has committed to Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, Indiana. The 5’10” OF/LHP was named first-team all-NCC after finishing the 2023 season with a .338 batting average, and a .458 on-base percentage while stealing 13 bases. On the mound, Sands won 2 games while striking out 25 batters in 19 innings. Indiana Wesleyan won 41 games in 2023 while advancing to their first NAIA World Series in Lewiston, ID. The Wildcats are members of the Crossroads League. Fellow Senior, Logan Marsell, has verbally committed to Wabash Valley College in Mt. Carmel, Illinois. The 5’11” OF led the Mavericks in batting average (.404), slugging (.629), and RBI (31) as a junior. Marsell was named team MVP as well as first-team all-NCC. 2023 was a historic season for Wabash Valley as they were national runners-up in the NJCAA Division I World Series and finished with a 57-13 record.
