Homestead broke open a 1-0 game in the bottom of fourth with a five run inning to seal the victory Saturday afternoon in Fort Wayne. The Mavs offense was held in check most of the day. Jackson Lancaster had a two-out single in the top of the third and advanced on a wild pitch but was left stranded. Jonathan Riley led off the top of the fourth with a single but the Mavs were unable to bring him home. Mav pitching surrendered just four hits and struck out seven on the day but five walks, a HBP and three errors proved too much to overcome. The Mavs (13-11) close out the regular season on Monday with a split doubleheader. Crawfordsville visits the Mav Baseball Complex for a 11:00 am matchup while West Lafayette comes in at 2:30.
