Strong pitching leads Mavs to win
By Tristan McIntyre | May 15, 2025 10:28 PM

Mav pitchers combined to strikeout thirteen Husky hitters without issuing a walk in a Thursday night win at the Mav Baseball Complex. Sammy Swank led the way for the Mavs (10-10) going six innings on just seventy-one pitches. He surrendered one hit while striking out eleven. Mekyel Almond pitched a 1-2-3 seventh striking out two to seal the victory. After scoring a single run in the bottom of the second, the Mavs added some key insurance runs in the bottom of the fifth. A Jake Winger hit by pitch and a Jonathan Riley single got the inning started. Almond then hit a ground ball to third and a Husky throwing error allowed Winger to score. Jackson Lancaster was then hit by a pitch to load the bases before Brennan Johnson delivered a two-out, two RBI single to center to close out the Mav scoring. The Mavs are at home again on Friday when Tri-West visits the Mav Baseball Complex for a 6:00 pm first pitch.
