The Mavs (8-9) scored twenty seven runs across two games on their way to two victories Saturday at the Mav Baseball Complex. Game one saw the Mavs score in six of the seven innings against Western Boone. The Mavs slugged six extra base hits in the contest highlighted by Sammy Swank's two doubles and Jonathan Riley's third home run of the year. Riley and Mason Jones both finished with three hits and three RBIs while Swank, Blake Morrison, Mekyel Almond and Jackson Lancaster each scored three runs. In the night cap, the Mav offense was hot once again and was aided by strong pitching and defense. Aiden Riser picked up the win by going five shutout innings. He scattered three hits while striking out four and walking two. Jake Winger and Swank led the way with two hits and two RBI apiece while both also collected doubles. Riley picked up two more RBI while Zayne Newgent scored two runs. The Mavs return to action on Monday when the Avon Orioles travel to the Mav Baseball Complex for a 6:00 pm first pitch.
