Congratulations to AmFam Adsit Agency Student-Athletes of the Week: Scarlett Reksel & Kamarion Ayres! Scarlett, a senior sprinter on the Lady Mavs Track and Field team, has been off to a lightning-fast start this season! In just Ms. Reksel's first three outdoor meets of the Spring, she has sprinted a personal best in the 200M (26.21 seconds) and 400M (59.29 seconds) dashes. Currently, Scarlett is the top-ranked Sectional sprinter in both of those races and has yet to lose an individual race in 2025! Scarlett is also rather quick in the classroom, where the Senior carries a lofty 3.95 cumulative GPA. Fantastic job on the track and in the classroom, Scarlett! Kamarion, a junior hurdler on the Maverick Track & Field team, has had a historic start to the season! At last Tuesday's dual meet at Harrison, Mr. Ayres set a new school record in the 110M High Hurdles (14.78)!!! Kamarion used the momentum that night to record personal bests in his two other events: 200M Dash (2nd place) and the 300M Hurdles (1st). Three days later Kamarion placed 2nd in the 110M HH (15.14) at the loaded Lafayette Jeff Sprinter Showcase! Kamarion is also dedicated in the classroom where the Junior carries a strong 3.05 cumulative GPA. Great work in the classroom and on the track, K-Mar!
