The Mavs (2-3) claimed a 11-5 road victory Friday night in Monticello. The Mavs came out hot in the top of the first. Aiden Riser led off with a single followed by a Jake Winger walk before Jonathan Riley drove in both with a triple to right center. After a walk and stolen base by Mekyel Almond, Blake Morrison drove in two on a double to left field. Brennan Johnson capped off the five run inning with a SAC fly to right field to score Morrison who had advanced to third on a wild pitch. Riley, Almond, Morrison and Jonah Fritchley all finished with two hits on the night. Morrison led the way with three RBI while Winger, Riley and Johnson each added two. Aiden Riser (2-0) picked up the win in relief throwing five innings of three run ball striking out nine without issuing a walk. The Mavs return to action next Tuesday as they travel north to take on William Henry Harrison at 5:30 pm.
