Crown Point (5-1) broke open a 0-0 game in the top of the fourth inning and never looked back Friday night at the Mav Baseball Complex. Jake Winger got the start for the Mavs (0-2) and pitched four innings of three run ball striking out two while walking none. The Mavs best scoring chance came in the bottom of the fourth when Winger lead off with a single, courtesy runner Zayne Newgent advanced to second on a wild pitch and a Jonathan Riley ground out moved Newgent to third with one out but the Mavs were unable to push a run across. Winger lead the Mavs with two hits while Brennan Johnson and Rhett Clarkson each added singles. The Mavs close out a three game opening week Saturday morning when the Huntington North Vikings come to the Mav Baseball Complex for a 11:00 am start.
