A four run fourth inning pushed Frankfort (1-1) past the Mavs (0-1) on Thursday night. The Mavs jumped out to a two run lead in the top of the first behind an Aiden Riser HBP, a Jake Winger double and RBI singles by Jonathan Riley and Rhett Clarkson. After Frankfort tied the game at two in bottom half, the Mavs jumped back out in front after a Riley triple scored Winger who had previously walked. Riley lead the Mavs with three hits and two RBI. Winger added two hits and scored three runs. Clarkson had two RBI on the night while Blake Morrison added a RBI single. Mekyel Almond and Reed Grimes gave up a combined two earned runs while striking out six on the mound for the Mavs. The Mavs return to action Friday night as they welcome the Crown Point Bulldogs to the Mav Baseball Complex for a 6:00 pm first pitch.
