Congratulations to AmFam Adsit Agency Student-Athletes of the Week: Keara Lipscomb-Allen & Josh Marlin! Keara, a sophomore guard on the Lady Mavs Basketball team, had a tremendous stretch of games helping lead McCutcheon to the 2024 IU Health Hoops Classic Championship! This past week, Ms. Lipscomb-Allen helped the Lady Mavs run away with the tournament with big wins over Benton Central (83-33), Lafayette Central Catholic (70-44), and the defending Hoops Classic Champion, Rensselaer Central Bombers (62-52)! Keara was also recognized by the IHSAA officials working the tournament who nominated her for a Peterman Brothers Sportsmanship award. On the season, Keara is averaging 11.3 ppg, 3.0 stl/g, and 2.2 apg for the #9 ranked Mavericks. Ms. Lipscomb-Allen is also a stellar leader in the classroom where the sophomore carries a strong 3.57 cumulative GPA! Great job in your studies and on the court, Keara! Josh, a senior grappler on the McCutcheon Wrestling team, started the year with a big 2nd place finish at the loaded Jasper Invitational this past Saturday. In the semi-final match, Josh overcame a 7-point deficit, earning a tech-fall and a spot in the Championship match. Mr. Marlin is a returning Sectional and Regional champion with hopes of punching a ticket into this year's State Finals! Josh is also a gritty talent in the classroom where the senior carries a respectable 3.15 cumulative GPA! Awesome job on the mat and in the classroom, Josh!
