Tuesday- Lady Mavs 83- Benton Central 33 Friday- Lady Mavs 70 - Central Catholic 44 Championship Saturday - Lady Mavs 62 Rensselear Central 52 On Saturday evening, the Lady Mavs walked away with the IU Hoops Classic Championship with a win over Rensselear Central by the score of 62-52. A back and forth first quarter to open the game that was led by 8 points from Aubrey Miller, including 2 three pointers. At the end of one quarter the game was tied at 16-16. The second quarter, the Lady Mavs were able to find some defense and forced 6 turnovers. The Mavs won the quarter by 22-9 and pushed a halftime lead to 38-25. Rensselear came out strong in the 3rd quarter and forced the Mavs into some poor possessions to gain some momentum going into the 4th quarter. The Lady Mavs answered every late game push that the bombers had in the 4th quarter. Junior Braelyn Williams knocked down some clutch free throws to seal the game and the championship for the first time since 2011-2012 season. This move moves our season record to 7-1 on the season. The next game will be at Tri-West on December 4th with a jv tip at 6pm.
