The JV Mavs played host to the Athenians of Crawfordsville on Monday. They capitalized on their opportunity to compete by improving to 14-9 on the season with a 10-0 (5 Inn) victory. Aidan Piechnik handled the pitching duties for the JV Mavs. The right hander went all 5 innings and finished the night on just 50 pitches. He worked at an efficient pace allowing just 4 hits, 0 runs, and 0 walks. The Maverick defenders were sure handed in the field not committing a single error behind Piechnik. It was a relentless offensive night that proved to be too much for the Athenians as the JV Mavs collected 12 hits on the night. Deacon Anthrop, Zayne Newgent, Jonah Fritchley, Jackson Lancaster, and Jackson Savage each collected two hits a piece. Savage and Lancaster added 2 RBI's while Bryce Wickstrom and Jonah Fritchley also added an RBI. Tuesday will be the final chance to catch the JV Mavs in action as they host a 6:00pm first pitch to end their season.
