The JV Mavs (13-9) hosted Hanover Central on Saturday in a Doubleheader and split the two games with the Wildcats. Game 1 started by Hanover Central opening with 2 runs in the top of the first inning. The JV Mavs responded by plating 2 runs in the bottom half, by way of a Brodyn Sharp single scoring Zayne Newgent and Rhett Clarkson who both had walked. The Wildcats again captured the lead in the top of the 2nd scoring 4 and they never looked back. The Mavs fought to make it a 9-5 deficit after 3 but could never close the gap ending in a 13-6 defeat to start the day. Responding well after the loss, Game 2 brought some excitement to the Mavs Baseball Complex for the JV team. The game was a back and forth affair throughout ending with a Hunter Reagan walk-off single to right field after the bases were loaded with 3 consecutive free passes in the final frame. The Wildcats once again scored early going up 3-0 after the first. After a scoreless top of the 2nd, Kaden Sharp hit a 2 RBI Triple scoring Bryce Wickstrom and Grayson Sharp, immediately followed by a Hunter Reagan sacrifice fly to score courtesy runner Zach Morgan in for K. Sharp. The JV Mavs enter their final week of the season playing host to Crawfordsville at 6:00pm start Monday at the Mav Baseball complex.
