The Mavs (19-3) jumped out to a 5-1 lead in game one of the doubleheader before ultimately falling to the host Trojans. The Mavs got on the board in the top of the first with a Jake Winger RBI single that brought home Aiden Earley. The Mavs added another run in the second inning after Mekyel Almond doubled and then scored on a Sage Adams single to centerfield. The top of fourth proved to be the biggest inning of the day for the Mavs. Back to back drag bunt singles from Aiden Riser and Riley Evans got the inning started before Almond drove in Riser with a single to centerfield. After an Adams single, Riley Sands brought home Evans and Almond with a double to left field. Adams, Sands, Evans and Almond all finished with two hits.
