The Mavs (18-2) scored six runs in the top of the first and raced to a 11-4 win over Tri-West Friday night in Lizton. Sage Adams led off the game with a single and Riley Sands was hit by a pitch before Logan Marsell's double scored courtesy runner Aiden Earley and Sands. In total, eleven Mav hitters stepped in the box during the frame. The Mavs would score two runs in the fourth on a 2-out, 2-RBI single by Aiden Riser. Riser would deliver again in the top of the sixth when he connected on a 2-RBI single to right field to give the Mavs a 10-2 advantage. For the night, Riser would finish with three hits and four RBI while also tossing 1.2 innings of scoreless relief. Adams and Marsell each had two RBI. Mekyel Almond and Earley each scored two runs. Sammy Swank (3-0) picked up the win after fanning five Bruin hitters in 4.1 innings of two-run ball. Noah Lyons recorded the final three outs of the Mav victory. The Mavs travel to Brownsburg on Tuesday for a 6:00 pm matchup with the Bulldogs.
