Even though the JV Mavs (10-5) outhit the Orioles of Avon, they still fell 2-1 on the road Monday night. Mason Jones, Jackson Savage, Rhett Clarkson, Zayne Newgent, and Chance Henderson all collected hits on the night. There were opportunities to be had throughout with runners on the basepaths, but the Orioles were able to close the door on those openings in a tight ballgame. Reed Grimes gave the Mavs a chance with a strong performance on the mound. He threw 5.2 IP with 3K's, 2H, and only allowed 1 free pass. Chance Henderson closed the bottom of the 6th throwing just 2 pitches to record the final out for the Mavs. Lebanon will host the JV Mavs on Tuesday with a first pitch slated for 5:30 at Memorial Park.
