Tuesday night provided a beautiful night for baseball at the Mav Baseball Complex where the JV (9-4) finished 2-0 on the night. Game One was tied 0-0 through 3 and Jeff opened the top of the 4th plating a run to take the 1-0 lead. The JV Mavs answered in the bottom half with 4 runs of their own to take a 4-1 lead. Rhett Clarkson capped the big inning off with a 2 RBI triple. Zayne Newgent and Aidan Piechnik combined for the 1 run outing on the mound to help lead the JV Mavs to victory. Game Two was a combined shutout from Reed Grimes and Ryker Eaton. The pair allowed only 3 hits, 1 walk, and struck out 6 Broncho hitters on the way to the win. Bryce Wickstrom, Hunter Reagan, and Rhett Clarkson all drove in runs for the Mavs to seal the second win of the evening. Action continues on the week for the JV Mavs as they travel across the river to Bob Friend Field to take on West Lafayette at 5pm.
