The JV Mavs (2-0) lit up the scoreboard in the top of the first inning. Zayne Newgent led off with a double, Sam Hoggard singled, scoring one run, Kaden Sharp singled, scoring one run, Brodyn Sharp doubled, scoring one run, Grayson Sharp singled, scoring one run, and Deacon Anthrop laid a sacrifice bunt scoring one run. After the first the Mavs led 6-0 and never looked back. Reed Grimes opened with two shutout innings to set the tone for the game. Cason Trader, Zach Morgan, Grayson Sharp, and Aidan Piechnik all came on in relief to secure the victory. JV Mavs return to action Saturday at Zionsville for a doubleheader with a first pitch in Game 1 scheduled for 10:00am.
