The Mavs (3-0) never trailed Saturday afternoon at the Mav Baseball Complex as they raced to a 11-1 victory over Crown Point. The Mavs jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the 1st after Sage Adams reached on a HBP, stole second and came around to score on a single by Riley Sands. Jake Winger would drive in Sands with a double to close the scoring in the inning. After Crown Point scored one run in the top of the 4th, the Mavs would score the games final nine runs capped by a Mekyel Almond 2-RBI single to invoke the 10-run rule in the bottom of the 6th. Winger finished with three hits and four RBI while Sands and Jonathan Riley finished with two hits each. Sammy Swank (1-0) picked up the win with an efficient five inning start that saw him strikeout ten Crown Point hitters while issuing just one walk. The Mavs travel to Logansport on Tuesday for a 5:30 first pitch.
