On Tuesday night the Lady Mavs played host to the Cougars of Carroll High School (15-3) and came away with a hard come from behind win by the score of 56-49. This was senior night and the whole program wants to thank Bri Mullendore for all of her hard work and dedication to the Lady Mavs. Her impact is felt in the locker room, on the court and on the sideline. We are a better team with this young lady and we wish her all the best after this chapter is over. The first half belonged to cold shooting and Carroll's ability to hit some shots. The Lady Mavs missed some defensive assignments and the cougars were able to capitalize on those. Carroll went into half time with a 28-18 lead because of their quick start in the first quarter. The 3rd quarter was much of the same as the lead for Carroll moved to 11 heading into the last quarter of the game. The fourth and final quarter, the Lady Mavs were able to turn the corner on defense and created plenty of turnovers and keeping Carroll to one shot possessions. On offense, Freshman Lillie Graves scored 19 points of her game high 34 in this quarter alone. Junior Kalea Washington and Sophomore Aubrey Miller made some crucial free throws to seal the game for the Lady Mavs. This win pushes our season record to 16-2 (5-0 NCC). Our next game is another Varsity game only at Muncie Central with a tip time at 1:30pm.
