Congratulations to AmFam Insurance - Adsity Agency Student-Athletes of the Week: Sarah Luban & Jaxon Akridge! Sarah, a junior on the Lady Mavs Swim & Dive team, was a point-earning machine for McCutcheon at last Saturday's NCC Championships hosted at the Purdue Aquatic Center! In total, Ms. Luban helped earn 79 points for the Mavericks, helping them to a 5th-place overall finish in the conference. Sarah placed 3rd in the 100 yd Breaststroke, 3rd in the 500 yd Free, and anchored the 3rd place 200 yd Freestyle Relay. Sarah also earned a 4th place ribbon as part of the 200 yd Medley Relay. Sarah is also a point-earning machine in her studies where the junior carries a perfect 4.0 cumulative GPA! Excellent work in the classroom and in the pool, Sarah! Jaxon, a fellow junior on the Swim & Dive team, was the highest point earner for the Boys' team at the 2024 NCC Championships! In total, Mr. Akridge earned 70 total points which helped lead the Mavs to a 5th-place overall finish in the conference. Jaxon's top finish was a 4th place finish in the blazingly fast 200 yd Freestyle Relay. Jaxon is a multi-sport athlete who also lettered in Tennis this past fall. Jaxon is also a top student in the classroom where the junior carries a perfect 4.0 cumulative GPA! Fantastic work in the classroom and the natatorium, Jaxon!
