The Mavs used seven doubles and two home runs to power a 17–2 victory over Lafayette Jeff on Monday night at the Mav Baseball Complex. The Mavs broke open a 1–0 game in the bottom of the third, plating five runs in the inning. Zayne Newgent started the rally with a line-drive single to center, and Jonah Fritchley followed with an RBI double to left to score Newgent. After a walk by Jonathan Riley, Jake Winger hit a three-run blast to left. Jackson Lancaster capped the inning with a solo shot to left-center. Eight Mavs recorded hits, led by two each from Sammy Swank, Winger, Lancaster, and Newgent. Winger drove in four runs, while Swank and Newgent added three RBIs apiece. Swank earned the win on the mound, striking out eight over 4.1 innings. The Mavs conclude the two-game series with the Bronchos on Tuesday, traveling to Loeb Stadium for a 6:00 p.m. first pitch.
