The Mavs (4-3) scored the first ten runs of the contest and held on for a 10-5 victory on Friday at the Mav Baseball Complex. The Mavs wasted no time getting the offense going as Jonah Fritchley led off with a double followed by a Jonathan Riley RBI triple. Sammy Swank then grounded out to score Riley. After Mekyel Almond was hit by a pitch, Jackson Lancaster delivered a two-run homer to left to cap the scoring at four in the bottom of the first. Riley finished with three hits and four RBI while Fritchley and Rhett Clarkson both had two hits apiece. Swank, Reed Grimes and Almond combined to strikeout seven while only issuing one walk on the night. The Mavs return to action on Monday as they travel to Clinton Prairie for a 5:30 pm first pitch.
