Wednesday Night Maverick Round-Up

The McCutcheon campus was hopping Wednesday night, with several teams competing under a beautiful late summer sky.  Here’s a quick round-up of last night’s results. Boys Tennis:  The Mav tennis team knocked off a talented Rossville squad 3-2.  Winning for the Mavs were #2 Singles John Shambaugh, #3 Singles Joe Sanson, and the #2 Doubles

Lady Mavs Soccer Blast Berries 7 – 1

The Logansport Berries got on the bus to McCutcheon hyped for a clash of NCC rivals…however, their bus got stuck in traffic on I-65 and the team sat on the highway for several hours!  After the long delay, the Lady Mavs got the jump on the weary Berries going up 5 – 1 at half. 

Student-Athlete of the Week – Kendra Brewer

Congratulations to Kendra Brewer as she has been named the American Family Insurance Adsit Agency Student Athlete of the Week! A senior on the girls soccer team, Kendra has demonstrated great leadership helping the Mavs earn two victories, zero loses, and two ties against some of the best competition in the state.  Coach Branko describes

Boys Soccer Battles Weather & North White for 6 – 1 Win

In a long, drawn-out match vs the Vikings of North White HS, the Mavs used the hot boot of Senior Tyler Raplee to secure their first home win of the 2019 campaign.  The match was delayed multiple times due to weather, yet Coach Wheeler’s squad maintained their focus and came away with the non-conference win. 

Lady Mavs Soccer Defeat Munster with Shutout

In their first matchup of the South Bend St. Joe Invitational, the Lady Mavs soccer team shutout the Mustangs of Munster HS with a 3 – 0 tally.  Senior Brittany Crowe found the back of the net in the first half to give the Mavs a 1 – nil edge at the break.  The Mavs

Girls Soccer Home Opener

The Lady Mavs Soccer teams are set to start their Home Opener vs the Red Devils of West Lafayette.  The JV takes the kickoff at 5:00 PM and the Varsity will follow at 6:30 PM. Come out and support the Lady Mavs who promise to #PlayWithaPurpose

Lady Mavs Soccer vs Fishers – Results

Bummer! Storms on Saturday afternoon (8/17) forced officials to call the match at half with the Fishers Tigers leading the varsity match 1 – 0. Thanks to everyone who came out on the road for our first games of the season! Up next for the Mavs is a home match vs the West Lafayette Red

Lady Mavs Soccer Scrimmage

The Lady Mavs soccer team successfully competed in their opening scrimmage vs Lawrence North.  The Lady Mavs competed at a very high level and prevented the visiting Wildcats from finding the back of the net.  Goals scored by the Mavericks came off the boots of Sophomore Michelle Escobar and Senior Marissa Sheets (pictured above).
