The IHSAA released the following statement about athletic physical requirements for the 2020/2021 school year. In short, if you turned in an IHSAA physical dated after April 1st, 2019, for the 2019-20 school year, that physical will be valid for the 20-21 school year. To state this again, you do not have to obtain a new physical for the upcoming school year if you had a physical for this current school year on file with the athletic department.
Two forms that you MUST COMPLETE prior to beginning practices for the 20/21 season are the IHSAA Health Questionnaire – Consent and Release Forms. Completed forms must be dropped off at the High School or scanned/emailed to the MHS Athletic Dept.
If there are new medical issues, please make sure to indicate so in Final Forms. It is important to note that the athlete and a parent/guardian needs to register for the 20-21 McCutcheon athletic opportunities via Final Forms. Please do so as soon as possible, as Final Forms is the main mode of communication for our coaches. You are not listed on a roster until you have completed the necessary steps on Final Forms; this has to be completed every year. Once you have completed your Final Forms for the 20-21 school year, the athletic office will mark that you have a physical on file if you already had one for the 19-20 school year. Any parent that still wishes to have their student-athlete screened by a health care provider certainly may, it is however not required for the 2020-21 school year.
One note for incoming freshman: We have emailed our Middle School AD’s and have asked them to send our department the physicals that they had collected for the 2019-20 school year. If you had an IHSAA physical form on file at Wainwright, Southwestern, or Wea, we will get your physical form from them. That physical will only be valid if it was completed on an IHSAA form.
