An announcement released today from, Commissioner Bobby Cox, states that the IHSAA is canceling the 2020 Spring season for all high school athletics. We greatly appreciate all the time, effort, and commitment our student-athletes, coaches, and their families have invested in preparation for their respective seasons. The time you’ve spent improving yourself and working hard towards a common goal are worthwhile endeavors, no matter the outcome. In this time of distance and separation, we encourage you to reach out to your coaches and teammates as much as possible. Remember to be diligent in completing your remote learning assignments. As a department, we are an open resource to provide you with any help or guidance in the days and weeks to come.
To our student-athletes, especially the class of 2020, we cannot say enough how important your sacrifices are to the greater good. Your journey is a different path than the years before, but we are confident that you will continue to find the positives in this troubling time. Protecting the health and safety of our McCutcheon family is and always will be our number one priority. Please respect the CDC’s warning to socially distance yourselves, and please remain off of all athletic facilities until further notice.
Know that your digital posts, messages, and videos continue to be a guiding light for us all. We will continue to use our digital and social media platforms to make further announcements about summer camps, physicals, and scholarship applications. Stay safe.
