Multiple Teams · “Huddle Up!” It’s the Monday Maverick Round-Up (9/17/19)

Summer doesn’t want to leave us just yet, and we’re just fine with that!  It was a beautifully sunny day for our athletes to compete with #MavPRIDE (positivity, respect, integrity, determination, and empathy)…Let’s recap all the highlights:

Heimbach (So), Miller (Sr), Matz (Sr), Spalding (Sr), Barker (Jr)

It was an early start for the Lady Mavs golf team, as they headed to Pebble Brooke golf course to compete in the annual NCC Tourney.  The Monday morning tee time was a great way to tune-up for Sectionals, which is only a week away!  The Mavs played an 18-hole match and were paired with ladies from Jeff and Logansport.  Senior Madison Matz led the way for the Mavs, shooting a personal best 95! Fellow Seniors Sarah Spalding (103) and Hanna Miller (100) also competed well.  Junior Kayci Barker (123) and sophomore Hannah Heimbach (110) rounded out the Mav’s scoring (Team Total 408).

Senior Class of 2020!
Sheets, Marissa
Crowe, Brittney

Next up for the Lady Mavs Soccer was a Senior Night matchup with Brownsburg.  The match was very competitive, with a near-capacity crowd on hand to cheer on the Mavs!  Senior Marissa Sheets scored the lone Maverick goal, assisted by fellow Senior Brittney Crowe.  Even though the Bulldogs of Brownsburg won 3-1, it was a wonderful evening to celebrate the class of 2020!

The JV team won 3-1 bolstered by goals from Bianca Ramirez (2) and Shelby Crowe (1).
