Boys Varsity Soccer · Boys Soccer Battles Weather & North White for 6 – 1 Win

Raplee, Tyler
Hall, Dylan
Persin, Joshua “Josh”
Butcher, Bryce

In a long, drawn-out match vs the Vikings of North White HS, the Mavs used the hot boot of Senior Tyler Raplee to secure their first home win of the 2019 campaign.  The match was delayed multiple times due to weather, yet Coach Wheeler’s squad maintained their focus and came away with the non-conference win.  The Mavs dominated the pace of play and time of possession throughout the match.

Raplee found the back of the net twice in the early goings of the contest.  He wasted no time using a header in the 3rd minute of the match to take the initial lead.  A few minutes later, he was assisted by Senior Josh Persin for his 2nd goal of the half.  The highlight goal of the match came after the weather delay.  In a corner set-piece, Junior Dylan Hall centered a perfect ball for fellow classmate, Bryce Butcher, to head in for the goal and a 3 – 1 lead.  After that electric goal, the rout was on.  The JV Mavs also came away with the win vs North White.

Next up for the Mavs (1 – 1) is a clash with NCC rival, Logansport.  The match will be played at Logansport on Thursday (8/29).  JV takes the kickoff at 5:30 PM.
