The 2016 rendition of the McCutcheon Boys' Cross Country Team returns all but one of last year's varsity seven. With 2015 top runner Adam Fields moving on to run at Indiana Wesleyan, several athletes are poised to fill the void. The top three returnees from last year's team, senior Cody Cornell and juniors Will Persin and Jake Ruble created a nearly inseparable pack, running times within eleven seconds of each other. After fantastic track seasons, all three look to improve upon last year's performance. There will be a battle for the remaining four varsity spots as there is incredible depth between fourth and ninth runners. Seniors, Jon Maddox, Travis Lineback, and Konnor Breitlander, juniors Dylan Linder and Caleb Whitlock, and sophomore Tyler Brubaker. The ability of this group to close the gap on the front three will be the most important factor to the team's success. When that happens, the 2016 team has the potential to rack up a number of wins, including a push for the NCC Championships and a possible run to the IHSAA State Championship meet. The team hosts home meets at our Wea Ridge course on Saturday, August 27 and Wednesday, October 5.
