Title: Head Boys' Basketball Coach

Tyler is entering his 11th year of teaching and his 7th head coaching season.  The last 6 seasons he was the head coach at Tri-County, where he compiled a 104-41 (.717) win-loss record while winning sectional championships in 2015 and 2017.  His teams also won the Indiana Kitchen Classic Tournament (8 schools) hosted at Delphi in 2013 and 2014.  Coach Scherer believes that high school basketball in Indiana is a truly special experience for all of its participants.  Furthermore, winning a sectional championship in the state of Indiana is undoubtedly a memory that our student-athletes will cherish forever.

Through the function of team sports, players learn and develop characteristics such as selflessness, industriousness, and resiliency.  These attributes are transferrable to decision-making, critical thinking, and work ethic. These skills will allow our teams and team members to be successful on the court and in their future lives.

Tyler has taught business and health both at the middle school and high school levels. He lives in West Lafayette and his hobbies include playing golf, running, and going to Menard’s.
